I feel that The Book of Negro's is a title that people should not be angry about. For one, authors spend a lot of time thinking about good titles and they go through so much to find one title that fits and works for them. He clearly chose this title because it fit. Secondly, he isn't being racist. firstly, it relates to slavery and how it was like to be one back in the 1700's. Secondly, he himself is black. I am not saying that people can call themselves racist names because they are one, however, if people read the short story "black + white = black" they would understand that the author had a hard time growing up. If he had no choice but to change the title, I like the title "Somebody Know's My Name."

The Suitcase Lady

I personally enjoyed reading the Suitcase lady for a couple of different reasons. The first being that it was an easy read, yet it was still strong and it sent a good message. The second is it used a lot of imagery, which for me paints a better pictures than most other literary devices.

Hello, my Name is Nathan Gordon I am 16 years old and a grade 12 student at Ridley College. I enjoy spending time with my friends and just having a good time. I also like to work on our family farm. I enjoy reading autobiographies about entrepreneur's. Most recently I have read an interesting autobiography on Steve Jobs. Steve Jobs was the co-founder of Apple computers and also Pixar. He died of pancreatic cancer in 2011. I enjoy this type of writing because I to want to become an entrepreneur and find reading about other people's success I can learn from them and lead off of what they did. One of the English goals I have for this year is to improve my critical thinking skills and to learn how be more descriptive.
